LSX sets the example for aesthetics and a greener future in sunny Reno
One thing that Reno, NV certainly doesn’t lack is sun. The city receives almost 300 days of sun per year! Certainly something to “solarbrate” as the Unitarian Universal Fellowship of Northern Nevada did this past weekend following the final interconnection of their 11.25kW Lumos SolarScape.
Because the system is a visible component of the church, how the structure integrated architecturally with the church was important. Lumos SolarScapes are a perfect blend of structurally superior engineering with a design focus. Lumos worked with the Unitarians and their selected installer, Independent Power Corporation (IPC Solar), to determine the best configuration, size and color to meet the architectural needs of the church.
Installed by IPC Solar, this beautiful SolarScape will help the church reduce their carbon footprint by 20 to 25%. The Unitarians raised the funds to purchase the system, which will act as a covered gathering area, keeping congregation members cool in the shade while generating electricity for the church and for electric vehicles driven by church members.
