April 22, 2014 - Florida, "the sunshine state," ranks third in the nation for solar potential and Gulf Coast State College is taking full advantage of the sunshine by installing a Lumos SolarScapes carport with an EV charging station. The SolarScapes product is Lumos' aesthetically pleasing, pre-engineered, but fully configurable solution for overhead applications of solar. The steel structure can be powder-coated to any color and for Gulf Coast State College a beautiful, stunning blue was chosen to match their school colors.

Established in 1957, Gulf Coast State College is committed to providing first-class facilities and education to its students. So, it's no surprise that for this solar project, Gulf Coast State College reached out to northeast Florida's first-in-class installers, Compass Solar Energy. Installing since 1998, Compass Solar Energy has consistently provided the highest quality solar design and installation to their customers with a focus on understanding and meeting customers' needs.

"Lumos was a tremendous help with the overall design and configuration of the system to provide us with a complete ready to install package," says Dan Gardner of Compass Solar. "Lumos products have a great curb appeal and have allowed Compass Solar Energy to easily branch out from roof and standard ground mounted systems to attractive field installations."
