When Modern Design meets Solar...LSX Stands Out
Luxury apartment complex uses LSX solar modules for a premier look
October 15, 2013 - Stella Apartments has taken creating an overhead LSX canopy to a whole new level. The system is extremely visible over the apartment's pool area, reminding residents of the efforts made to make the buildings green.
The Stella Apartment Complex is a modern design mixed-use housing project that consists of of 244 luxury apartment homes averaging 975 sq. ft. each, 9,000 sq. ft. of retail space, and two levels of parking.
The project is a Maria Del Rey first because it was built in compliance with Los Angeles' green building ordinance as a LEED certified facility. The buildings have incorporated sustainable materials, healthier interior finishes, and utilized energy efficient construction techniques. As icing on the cake, the complex integrated an aesthetically pleasing solar system using Lumos LSX modules over their "Sky Lounge". The Sky Lounge is the apartment common area that overlooks the pool allowing residents to relax and mingle while staying stylishly shaded from the sun.
